Please Get Real - Please

What happens with the Doppler effect is familiar to
anyone who has ridden in a car, as you look out the
window, the pavement below appears to be flying bye;
let your eyes drift up, things are going a bit slower,
and in the distance, the trees at the edge of the
field, seem to not be moving much at all? You've
probably seen this, but, have you seen it in life?

Ever have a friend who was in a crappy
relationship, and they choose, constantly
to stay there? Ever ask them why, to get
told, "well, what else am I going
to do?" It might make you bit mad,
as you think, "well dad gum, anything
would be better than this?"
Guess what, the Doppler effect, your up close to
the difference, they can't see it, their life isn't
moving that fast, the Doppler effect?

Recently we experienced a local election
where new representatives were voted in.
 Right after that, the Doppler effect took
over, and they, can't see it.
The difference between what we need in leadership
with guts, talent, brains and the ability to study
their way into new and dazzling futures for us;
and what we got- well, let's call it the Doppler
effect- they just can't see it.

Neil Young, ever the easy to understand poet,
put it this way in his song "Hey, hey, my, my
(Into the black)..."it's better to burn out
than fade away." Seems pretty clear
that Neil hit the Doppler effect right
on the head. Leaders, especially, political,
not religious, or corporate, but political,
need a dose of "burn it up- buck-"O"."
Only, where they gonna get it? They seem
scared to bust a move, scared to receive
a little negative flack back? The Doppler
effect, it's gettin' to us all...

Are You Changing Direction - Not Course?

Ever hear someone say, "we've done this," or, "we're saying the
same thing over again," or, "we've had this same fight for the
last three times," or words to that effect ( I know most of you
never let conflict get out of hand to the point that you fight
with someone, certainly, not your mate, but let's hypothesize
because we know such can happen).  Ever wonder why it is
that when that isn't pleasant you participate in it, anyway?

Seeing the direction as being the focus, in a slightly different
way, may help, in these times when so many seem so stressed
it makes sense to learn different approaches and see if they
will work.  If you see this situation in a slightly different
way, you begin, right away, to see how it is also, easily
avoided.  "But if that's the case, why do people not do
this naturally?"  My sense is that after you see what is
taking place in this different light, that question, which
is a good one, will seem to have a new direction to it.

Imagine that you are at a race, a foot race, and you see
the runners all poised to take off, the tension is in the
air, they're poised ready to run, and you notice one,
is facing the wrong way?  The gun goes off and sure
enough, the runner facing the wrong takes off going
the opposite direction.  A half hour goes bye and some
of the runners are coming in, and there he is, mister
going the other way, as he crosses the finish line his
timer starts, "this is the Finish line, isn't it?"  He asks
the race manager, who, perplexed at the situation
has to say, "you never crossed the start line to begin
your timer..."  If he'd been standing on the other
side of the line, who knows...running totally opposite
all the others, might've still gotten him a time.  So it
wasn't the course, it was the direction.  Not the course,
the course was the same, either way, two hills, eight
turns, 3.5 miles, either way, but the direction- well,
that had an enormous amount to do with getting
credit for the course.

Changing direction isn't hard, but the course, that's
a different matter.  Sure it's a sort of silly story, we
all know, nobody is dumb enough to run a race
backwards, but you have to wonder sometimes, at the
way folks dwell in the past, which direction they
believe they are going?

they are into the game. My daughter
bought a game for her Nephews
(that is her story and she's stickin'
to it)called "Donkey Kong." I love to
play the game but on Wii it's a bit
of a challenge for me, that
seems to be an age thing. Anyway
let's not digress, so the Nephews are
playing the game, the house could
have caught fire and burned down, they would still
be pushing them buttons as fast as they could, and
into the game. Which is when it hit me...

What if we taught math that way? Hey, wait a minute,
there are some programs that do...what if we taught
English that way? Hey wait a minute, there are
programs that do...So does your local school system
employ this sort of advanced learning? Tony Robbins
I've got to believe would call it, immersion style,
learning, Mari Smith, would call it, immersion
style, learning. Immersion, getting so deeply into
the learning experience, having so much fun doing
it, that, you don't even realize you are learning.

When it comes to getting beyond
the problems that are in our future
about the change from petro based
lifestyle to other based lifestyles,
can we make the transition by actually
taking six months to
develop programs which would
teach the necessary skills to exist
in that world? Someone might,
the question might be, can it be
made to be as much fun as a
Gorilla going after Bananas?

New in the New Year

Year is a long time, twelve times as long as month, 365 times as long as day, and that's if we stay simple and plain in numbers that my simple head can relate to.  New; in that year is something that might happen; but how many years have you lived that have only been partially new?  How many more are you going to live, before you really, actually begin to live the year, new?

tonight, I'm growin' and, we know we're making the
positive measures about that.  Because if we aren't
sure about those two, catch the previous blog entry
and it will really help you.  That's all these blog
entries are about, you'll notice, there isn't a push
here to buy a thing, is there?  There is not real
mention of any kind of anything you give other
than just reading, right?  And we want to keep it
that way, why(?), because there is a bigger truth
in play here.

about six months ago, he called me, just to ask me
about something; can't even remember what it was
now, that's how important it was, but I remember
that call, why(?), because Chris is a big time web
market dude- he really knows his stuff, and he took
his time to treat me like I mattered?  You matter-

small measuresfor a big life,

realize how big
your life actually is,

measure is really not doing you 
any favors? See that door frame measure
was really cool, for several reasons,
silly as itmight sound, it actually made
me want to get taller? Ever hear that
you have to have a "want to," in
order to grow?

The difference between measuring to grow and
measuring that won't let you grow is all in
how the measure is done. Let's read that
sentence one more time- go ahead, run your
eyes back over it. Did you do that? Now
if you did, see how important that is, if
you didn't, ask yourself, what is it in you
that makes you not want to follow requests?
Because, that's an important question if
you think about measuring what you do? We
want to measure to grow, not measure so that
we can't grow, and the difference is what?

SO SECOND NOTE: measure positively to succeed.

Maybe this lead came in from Chris Voss,
which seems likely, as Chris is always
pointing out the latest and greatest of
stuff, including leaders, but anyway-
this lead was Louis Green. Now Louis
is something to take in, he is all sort
of powerful, in all sort of different
ways, but one thing about his blog; Louis
Green don't play. It might have been
Mari Smith, because she is precious to
bring in tons of great info off of the
Michael Seltzner blog on social media, so
she might've mentioned Louis, but my
suspicion is that it was most likely
Chris "bayyyybeeee" who managed it.
Louis is exceptional, if you want
info and great info and tons of it,
his blog is impossible to beat, and
he tackles the tough issues of how to
do business head on. For example,
this week he headlined a time
management guru Peggy Duncan, and it
was just outstanding so don't pass up
this one.

Folks we're gonna continue this for sure
because we have about five more ways
that you can grow FASTER, like this, but
for now, let's just follow up with each
other and try to start using that YouTube
where visual becomes ever more real,
wouldn't you say?

Learn All The Time - You Can - You Do

Want 200 million dollars, well heck yes, who wouldn't?  Only, you have
to jump through 200 million dollars worth of hoops to get it, but, if you
are the one who has the idea, you know it in your soul, get after it.

Wired Site Which Has This Pop Up On It

In trying to put together a presentation for Monday afternoon
doing some research on social media ports and methods, saw this
article about a "New Twitter," platform.  That was interesting, Twitter
is one of my favorite places to catch hold of new ideas, so went to
Wired to check it out.  While there saw the pop up about GE and
the 200 million dollar contest/grant they are offering.  Nice stuff to
know, but only people who go to that website, or read this, or find
it out by some other means will even know about it.  So the question
then becomes, why'd GE choose to advertise it this way, in Wired
magazine?
